If your smile is looking even the least bit dull, there are a number of options available to help you get a brighter smile, including the GO SMiLE light-assisted tooth whitening system. The GO SMiLE system can deliver a whiter, brighter smile in as little as 30 minutes. However, tooth whitening is only one step in creating a whiter smile; there’s also a lot you can do to keep your smile bright between treatments.

1. Brush and floss. Of course, you should brush and floss regularly. Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash after each meal is helpful, too. This will help keep new stains at bay and old stains from resurfacing. Your teeth may be more susceptible to discoloration immediately after a treatment, so keep an eye out for stain-producing activities and brush ASAP.

2. Avoid richly colored beverages. Common culprits include coffee, tea, cola sodas and red wine. Even though these are naturally colored drinks, they will stain or discolor your teeth. With all beverages, we recommend drinking through a straw, as this helps to reduce the amount of contact the beverage has with the front of your teeth.

3. Avoid darkly colored foods – especially any with food coloring or dyes. This, unfortunately, includes dark chocolate as well as tomato sauces, chili, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, berries, citrus fruits and anything made with these ingredients. But it’s a small sacrifice to keep your bright, white smile.

4. Don’t wear dark lipstick. Along the same lines, skip any dark colored or richly hued lipsticks or lip gloss for at least a week after your last treatment – and, if you’re using the GO SMiLE system, in between treatments, as well.

When combined with these smile-preserving habits, the GO SMiLE system makes it easy to perform quick, regular treatments to make sure your smile stays white and bright for years to come.
